About Me

Tobin Yates is a cinematographer and photographer from Charlottesville, VA and based out of New Hampshire. While studying environmental studies and climate science at Dartmouth College, Tobin’s work has taken him across the world shooting documentaries and personal projects. Tobin has worked for the Communications Office (Video Intern) and Sustainability Office (Photo and Media Intern) at Dartmouth. He is currently working as an assistant for Mike McGovern, a National Geographic wildlife photographer.

From shooting outdoor interviews to flying drones, Tobin specializes in a variety of mediums, and enjoys shooting in challenging natural environments while overcoming logistical challenges.

When not shooting, you’ll find Tobin backpacking, climbing mountains, or playing tennis. He’s spent the last few summers hiking through Iceland, Alaska, and New Zealand to explore the world’s alpine ecosystems.
